Although Parmet has moved away from a journalistic approach, she still retains her connection to those roots. Her response to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, to the 2004 Tsunami and the US war in Iraq resulted in 2 projects which drew on her skills as a photojournalist, yet moved toward a more lyrical imagery than a newspaper would ever allow. Burning Love and Palestinians/Israelis is Parmet's response.
